Two Shizendo classes are held in the Nuuanu Soto Mission Church grounds in downtown Honolulu. 1. One class called Shizendo Kakki-ho teaches enrollees how to take more responsibility for their own wellness via Ki testing, movement re-education, exercise, rebounding, & light body therapy arts. 2. The other called Shizendo Aiki-waza incorporates Shizendo "functional relaxation" concepts & principles in a modified form of Aikido. Emphasis is on developing intuitive skills toward application in daily life to "move with maximum efficiency with a minimum of undue muscular effort". This is in keeping with the Shizendo philosophy of "non-fighing mind". Self-defense movements require subtle "sliding hands & feet" principles for maximum efficiency.
Open-minded individuals desiring Ki awareness training based on Ki Kinesiology research data are welcome. Classes meet Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 6 to 7 o'clock (Kakki-ho) & 7:30 to 9 p.m.(Aiki-waza) |
